Gastec Joins Kiwa

After decades of working with gas products and manufacturers, Kiwa incorporated Gastec – an organization with roots going back to 1929 – and expanded its work in the gas technology sector.

A history of gas appliance inspection

Gastec originated in 1929, when the Association of Gas Manufacturers established the Gas Foundation (Gasstichting) with a laboratory and three employees in The Hague. After a quiet first year with few inspections, the Gasstichting passed a motion that meant all gas appliances needed to meet their requirements, which led to strong growth.
