The IATF 16949 Technical Specification was developed to meet the requirements of the QS 9000, French EAQF, German VDA and Italian ANFIA Automotive Standards as defined by Ford, Chrysler and General Motors. Built on the basis of QS 9000 in 1999, the standard was revised in 2002/2009/2016 on the basis of ISO 9001.
