Safeguarding Solar PV Revenues
Periodically we’ll present latest developments in solar PV to you with help of infographic posters. Each infographic has its own theme. Like cost of module failure modes, inverter failures or material reliability in a PV module. Find out how Kiwa can be your partner in progress for safeguarding long term solar investments.

Why solar energy?
Solar energy is hot in the Netherlands. More and more homeowners are providing their roofs with photovoltaic (PV) cells and generate electricity in this way. In 2018, there were approximately 16 million solar panels in the Netherlands and the total capacity grew by no less than 1.5 gigawatts (enough to provide 460 thousand households with electricity for a year) to a total of 4.4 gigawatts. The number of solar parks tripled in 2018, from 22 in 2017 to 65. And the end of that growth is not yet in sight. Why is solar energy so popular?

Solar technology certification
To ensure that solar panels, inverters and other solar technology can work optimally and safely, there are (inter)national standards and guidelines. Kiwa has test labs that meet the CB Scheme of the IECEE. This enable Kiwa to independently test PV modules and other components of solar energy systems against safety and performance standards such as IEC 61730, IEC 61215, EN 12975-1, ISO 9806 and EN 12976.

Responsible placement of solar parks in the Netherlands
