Introducing: Kiwa FSS Products team lead Jan-Willem Verwoert

Jan-Willem Verwoert is Kiwa FSS Products’ new team lead. In that role he succeeds Sabyne van Mourik, who started as business development manager at Kiwa's Products & Installations division earlier this year. Jan-Willem has been working at Kiwa for years as a test engineer and product manager and will therefore be no stranger to most of you. Nevertheless, he introduces himself to you below.

‘After completing my electrical engineering and telematics training, I started working as a tester at NXP Semiconductors, a manufacturer of semiconductors, mainly for the automotive industry,’ says Jan-Willem. ‘In 2008 I switched to Telefication, the predecessor of the current Kiwa FSS Products. Here I had the opportunity to specialise in the testing and certification of, among other things, control panels, sirens and detectors of equipment for fire safety and security.’

In the years that followed, Jan-Willem grew from his work as a test and certification engineer to a position as product manager and now to the role of team lead. ‘The great thing about this job is that I deal with all aspects of our work: managing a team and delivering good quality services together, contact with customers and helping them market their products and of course the technical testing work. The latter I really wouldn't want to do without!’

For several months now, Jan-Willem and his team have been working from Kiwa’s state-of-the-art laboratory in Apeldoorn. ‘From here we can provide our customers with the best possible service. The extensive testing capacity and facilities of our new lab allow us to test and certify products quickly and efficiently, which is of course important if customers want to shorten the time-to-market of a new product. We aspire to be a one-stop-shop for our customers and I look forward to working on that in the near future.’
