You are...
Are you a manufacturer of rubber compounds and rubber products or a distributor or trader? Are your products not yet certified? Then Kiwa can help you further. Our certification experts in this area will study your question and will work with you to find the right solution to obtain the KOMO quality mark in accordance with the Kiwa assessment guideline.
Your own Kiwa quality mark
The evaluation guideline BRL 2013 includes all relevant requirements on the basis of which Kiwa will handle applications for certification and the issuing of KOMO product certificates for vulcanised rubber products for piping systems for cold and hot non-drinking water. More specific; seals, for applications for drainage, sewerage, rain water and heating. For drinking water application we refer to evaluation guideline K17504.
You will not receive the certificate just like that. We place high demands on the entry control of the raw materials, controls during the production process and on the end product. When requesting a quote, you indicate for which products and which technical area you want to be certified.
For example:
Pipes, fittings and couplings in plastics, metal, concrete and GRP.
The certification scheme applies to seals made of solid vulcanised rubber, including
O-rings, gaskets and other designs, with welded joints as well as with protective coating.
Fields of application
In the evaluation guideline the rubber products are classified according to the following fields of application:
- Class I Non-potable water supply, drainage, sewerage and rain water
- Class II Non-potable water supply at intermittently high temperatures
- Class III Non-potable hot water circulation systems based on classification class 2 in ISO 10508
- Class IV District heating, secondary systems with hot water ciculation between 75 °C and 95 °C.
Procedure obtaining KOMO product certificate
If you have agreed to our quotation, we will conduct an admission investigation. We are investigating whether you can obtain the KOMO product certificate in accordance with the requirements we have determined. We do this by means of a company audit and prescribed laboratory tests. The outcome determines whether you meet the requirements of BRL 2013. If the result is positive, you will receive a KOMO certificate. The quality system - as laid down in the IKB - is then regularly checked by us. In this way your product continues to meet the set requirements. Your customers can be confident that your product offers them what they consider important; quality.
