Sustainable and responsible production
The main theme of the standard is sustainable production, counteract upon deforestation, support biodiversity, human rights, work against discrimination by gender and corruption.
The standards consist of a producer part ”Farm Organizations” and one for food industry and retailers ”Supply Chain standard”.
To be able to use Rainforest Alliance-certified raw materials and label the final product with Rainforest Alliance’s logo, the company must be certified and annually revised according the Rainforest Alliance Supply Chain standards by an independent certification body accredited for these standards.
Kiwa offers certification according Supply Chain standard. This part is suitable for importers/traders and processors of a variety of crops such as coffee, tea, cocoa and hazelnuts and implies that products can be labelled with Rainforest Alliance logo which will give added value to the products.
