A hosted alarm platform is a solution for processing alarms where the processing equipment is not (fully) installed in the alarm receiving centre. The processing equipment is (partly) in data centres and / or divided over several alarm receiving centres.
With a hosted alarm platform, the alarm receiving center is supported with a technical setup and continuity in alarm processing and handling. Situating the infrastructure and equipment in data centres and / or EN 50518 (link) certified alarm receiving centres and spreading the data over different locations (redundancy) ensures a much higher degree of availability. The alarm receiving center makes connection to the servers via a secure session. This takes care of the alarm handling in the Alarm Management System (AMS) via a client.
The infrastructure of a hosted Alarm solution, as mentioned in K21046, consists out of:
- The supplier of the Hosted Alarm platform
that supplies the equipment, the network and the service, which is responsible for the entire scope and with that the service. - The supplier, being the monitoring centre or alarm receiving centre
that collects the data and handles alarms according to requirements and thus meets the criteria set in EN50518. - The supplier of the location of the hosted environment
which is responsible for the environment as well as continuity of service. - The supplier of an Receiving Centre Transceiver (RCT) and/or interface Receiving Centre Transceiver (iRCT)
that functionally meets the requirements set in EN50136-3 and which is compatible with a defined Supervised Premises Transceiver (SPT) approved in accordance with EN50136-2. - The supplier of the network
which is responsible for the components, security and availability and therefore performance of the (critical transmission) network. - The supplier of the software
for the handling of alarms.

Certification process
Certification according to K21046 starts with an application where you specify which scopes you would like to be certified. Based on this application you will receive a fee proposal. You can enter into a certification agreement with Kiwa based on this fee proposal. Kiwa assesses whether the criteria for certification are met based on an independent acceptance audit. Certification will follow upon a positive audit outcome. However, if non-compliances are identified, you shall rectify these first.
After the initial certification, annual inspections are conducted to establish that the certified processes and completed works continue to comply with the requirements.
