Because of the stricter requirements of the environment and the manufacturers, Kiwa built a test centre for automotive vehicles using Hydrogen. This hydrogen laboratory (H2 lab) is unique in Europe and there is no other facility with the same test options. In the hydrogen laboratory (H2 lab) we can test in extreme conditions up to 1.100 bar hydrogen. We can test between -50 and 120 ºC. Kiwa is your all-round partner in for testing hydrogen components.
Outside of Europe, Kiwa can support you for the testing and certification in many other marketplaces, such as North America.
Manufacturers of components for automotive vehicles using Hydrogen (H2) and manufacturers of Fuel Cells who wish to launch their products on the European market have to certify all components that use Hydrogen (H2) in their propulsion system, according the Directive 79/2009 (Dir. 79/2009). If you wish to launch your product on the American market, Kiwa can test according to HGV 3.1.
You can ask for a quotation or information either by phone or e-mail. Starting point for a quotation is Directive 79/2009 (Dir. 79/2009). After approval of the quotation by both parties the actual test work starts. A certificate will be sent to you by RDW when all the test work has been performed successfully and you have entered into a surveillance agreement with Kiwa.
