BRL-K552/04 Thermoplastics piping systems for the transport of liquid oil and related products and their vapours

The piping systems are designed for the transport of PGS class 1 through class 4 products and for products as defined in PGS 28, PGS 30, PGS 31. Examples of this fluids are: liquid oil products such as (bio)petrol, (bio)diesel and (bio)kerosene, Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) and the fluids Diesel Exhaust Fluid (AdBlue), liquid fertilizers, chemicals and solvents. The piping can be both of a single walled or double walled configuration.

For whom?

Installers of under- and above ground storage facilities for PGS class 1 to class 4 products (PGS 28 en PGS 30) and for chemical products as defined in PGS 31.

When is it necessary?

Supplying/producing piping systems under the product certificate BRL-K552 give users, but also the competent authority, the confidence that the piping systems are produced under a quality assurance system audited by Kiwa. A certified installer must submit an approved RI&E (Risk Inventory & Evaluation) before a certificate in accordance with BRL SIKB 7800 can be issued. The piping system required for the transport of  (bio)liquid fuels will be part of this RI&E. The RI&E of each storage installation can be streamlined when use is made of certified components. In such cases, the RI&E aspects related to the certified products, are not required. Piping systems, manufactured according to the requirements of BRL-K552, will be in accordance with the requirements of the BARIM, RARIM and BRL SIKB 7800.
