GAR update: Introduction of the EN 60335-1:2012/A2

Kiwa would like to inform you about the introduction of the following amendment of the EN 60335-1:

• EN IEC 60335-1/A2:2019 “Household and similar electrical appliances – Safety – Part 1: General requirements) has been introduced.

As you might know, it is mandatory for the GAR (Gas Appliance Regulation) that a product is in compliance with the essential requirements in such a way that it takes into account the state of the art, reasonably foreseeable use and current practice at the time of design and manufacture. For some appliance designs, the amendment of these standards may be an indication of a change in the state of the art and current practice.

Please consider whether the above is relevant for the compliance of your product(s) and contact your local Kiwa representative if you need further advice.
