The need for decarbonization

The Dutch government has set ambitious targets for the industry: by 2050, the Netherlands must be climate neutral, with an intended goal of 55% CO₂ reduction by 2030 compared to 1990 levels. These plans make it clear that there is no time to waste. Rising CO₂ and energy prices due to legislation further increase costs for industrial companies. Decarbonization is a pressing issue, and immediate action is crucial.

What is the Energy Scan?

The Energy Scan is a structured roadmap designed to help your business reduce CO₂ emissions.  The scan includes the following steps:

  • 1
    Analyzing current energy sources

We map your current energy consumption, providing insight into existing processes and where better measurement is crucial.

  • 2
    Identifying energy-efficient process steps

We pinpoint where your processes can become more energy efficient.

  • 3
    Exploring sustainable energy options

We assess various sustainable energy sources, including hydrogen and other innovative solutions, to find those best suited to your business model.

  • 4
    Adapting gas-powered equipment

If your business uses gas-powered equipment, we can offer a range of solutions to adapt these systems for hydrogen and other sustainable energy sources based on the Energy Scan results. Kiwa’s extensive hydrogen test center and expertise in sustainable energy sources are key to this process.

Who is the Energy Scan for?

This scan is tailored for companies with up to five energy-related process steps. It’s also a useful tool for businesses in Smart Energy Hubs exploring ways to reduce CO₂ emissions.

Does your company have more than five energy-related process steps? Our experts are happy to help you map out your options.
