The services of the Kiwa Metrology Laboratory, accredited LAT No. 052 by ACCREDIA, an Italian accreditation body, are aimed at all companies in the manufacturing industry, with a focus on the Automotive&Racing, Aerospace and Defense, Medical and Packaging sectors, which need to know and control the quality-recognized and reportable-measurements of their instruments.
Tightening requirements are very different between 'applications. Tightening a bolt too little could mean not having sufficient certainty to prevent future loosening; overtightening, on the other hand, could cause deformations that would affect the strength of the fastener. Torque tools, such as torque wrenches and screwdrivers, are used to make controlled tightenings.
Torque transducers and other torque gauges find wide use as they are generally used to calibrate these tools.
Kiwa Italia is able to perform calibration of this equipment both at its own laboratories and at customers' premises.
In particular, calibration in the field completely solves the difficulties of handling measuring benches composed of several torque transducers, minimizing the time the equipment is not in use and zeroing out transportation costs.
