24 October 2024 - On 14th October 2024, the Andorra RF Regulator - Andorra Telecom, announced a gradual phasing-out of its 3G Network, starting in October 2026.

17 December 2024 - On 3rd December 2024, Argentina’s Regulator – Ente Nacional de Comunicaciones (ENACOM) – published Resolución 1188/2024 which allocates the frequency bands for Fixed Satellite Service (FSS).
10 January 2024 - In December 2023, Argentina Regulator – Ente Nacional de Comunicaciones (ENACOM) – published Resolución 2097/2023 which introduces an updated version of the Testing Standard for Cellular Devices in Argentina ENACOM-Q2-61.03 V23.1, replacing former standard ENACOM-Q2-61.03 V17.1.

Australia
31 December 2024 - Following the Kiwa Product Compliance Regulatory Update issued on 7th November 2024, the Cyber Security Bill 2024 - establishing mandatory security standards for smart devices - has been approved and passed into law on 29th November 2024.
22 November 2024 - On 08 November 2024, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has opened a public consultation to discuss updates to the Australian Radiofrequency Spectrum Plan.

1) On 9th October 2024, Cyber Security Legislative Package 2024 was introduced, which is now under second reading moved by Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security.
2) The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has opened a public consultation on 21st October 2024, to remake the Telecommunications Labelling Notice 2015 (TLN) for Customer Equipment and Customer Cabling, along with 7 telecommunications technical standards, and disability standard (AS/ACIF S040 2015).
04 September 2024 - A new Electrical Equipment Safety System (EESS) platform is being developed to enhance the existing EESS databases which includes the registration of Responsible Suppliers and In-Scope electrical equipment. The goal for this platform will be a single Certification and Registration platform and centralize household electrical equipment and local supplier data into a national database, thereby enhancing consumer safety within the regulatory frameworks of Australia and New Zealand.
08 August 2024 - The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is currently running two public consultations on radiocommunications licensing and allocation 2024 and 1800 MHz and 2 GHz bands outside of spectrum licensed areas in Australia.
12 June 2024 - On 4th June 2024, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) opened public consultation on planning options to possibly introduce radio local area networks (RLANs) and/or wide-area wireless broadband (WBB) services in the upper 6 GHz band (6425–7125 MHz) in Australia.
01 February 2024 - On 31st January 2024, the Australia Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) published a notice regarding a spectrum tune-up regarding the upper 6GHz band (6425–7125 MHz).

12 November 2024 - The Radio Frequency State Commission of Azerbaijan approved conditions of use of 5945-6425 MHz frequency band, specifically targeting Wireless Access Systems (WAS), including Radio Local Area Networks (RLAN).
22 March 2024 - A new national standard AZS ETSI/EN 301 489-17 V3.2.3:2024 Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) for radio equipment and services; Part 17: Specific conditions for Broadband Data Transmission Systems; Harmonised Standard for Electro Magnetic Compatibility was adopted by Azerbaijan Azerbaijani Institute of Standardization (AZSTAND) on 7th March 2024.

14 October 2024 - On 15th September 2024, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) formally announced that the 5925 - 6425 MHz frequency band is now permitted in the country.

30 August 2024 - On 22nd August 2024, the Bahamas RF Authority - Utilities Regulation & Competition Authority (URCA) – issued Public Consultation URCA ECS 73/2024 on the roadmap to Enable 5G Deployment.

11 March 2024 - On 28th February 2024, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of Bahrain published their ‘Technical Specifications - Requirements for Type Approval’.

29 February 2024 - On 20th February 2024, The Bhutan InfoComm and Media Authority (BICMA) issued an announcement to develop 26GHz frequency band plan framework in Bhutan.

12 December 2024 - On 6th November, the Bolivian Authority- Autoridad de Regulación y Fiscalización de Telecomunicaciones y Transportes (ATT)- published Resolution ATT-DJ-RAR-TL LP 539/2024 introducing changes on the current Type Approval regulation ATT-DJ-RAR-TL LP 443/2023.

14 November 2024 - Public consultation number 51 – Updates to Act nº 14448 for Restricted Radiation Radiocommunication Equipment.
05 November 2024 - Brazilian RF regulator - AGÊNCIA NACIONAL DE TELECOMUNICAÇÕES (ANATEL)- has approved the use of terminology of ‘Wi-Fi 7’ or ‘802.11be’ on the Certificates of Conformity (CoC) issued by a Designated Certification Bodies (OCDs).
21 October 2024 - Following the KPC Regulatory Bulletin of 22th February regarding Act 2436, Cybersecurity Requirements for Consumer Premises Equipment, the AGÊNCIA NACIONAL DE TELECOMUNICAÇÕES (ANATEL) opened public consultation no.50 with the aim to update the definition of a weak password contained in the minimum mandatory cybersecurity requirements.
11 October 2024 - On 7th October 2024, Brazilian RF Regulator – AGÊNCIA NACIONAL DE TELECOMUNICAÇÕES (ANATEL) –published Act No. 14430 which establishes that, as of 6th April 2025, new 2G or 3G equipment must also be compatible with 4G technologies or higher.
26 September 2024 - On 24th September 2024, Brazilian RF Regulator – AGÊNCIA NACIONAL DE TELECOMUNICAÇÕES (ANATEL) – held a meeting with all Designated Certification Bodies (OCDs) to announce changes to the Type Approval renewal process.
17 July 2024 - On 12th July 2024, Brazilian RF Regulator – AGÊNCIA NACIONAL DE TELECOMUNICAÇÕES (ANATEL) – published Public Consultation no.36, which aims to gradually accelerate and ease the transition from 2G and 3G technologies to 4G and 5G.
04 June 2024 - On 17th May 2024, Brazilian RF Regulator – AGÊNCIA NACIONAL DE TELECOMUNICAÇÕES (ANATEL) – released Public Consultation 28 which proposes a Market Surveillance program conducted by a Designated Certification Body (OCD).
30 May 2024 - On 27th May 2024, Brazilian RF Regulator – AGÊNCIA NACIONAL DE TELECOMUNICAÇÕES (ANATEL) – released a public consultation which proposes an update to the current Technical Requirements for the Conformity Assessment of Restricted Radiation Radiocommunication Equipment, approved by Act No. 14448, of December 4, 2017.
26 April 2024 - On 17th April 2024, Brazilian Regulator – AGÊNCIA NACIONAL DE TELECOMUNICAÇÕES (ANATEL) – published Act 5155 regarding the Technical Requirements and Test Procedures for mobile phone chargers. Act 5155 will come into force from 14th October 2024 and replace Act 5159 of April 2022.
05 April 2024 - On 27th March 2024, Brazilian RF Regulator – AGÊNCIA NACIONAL DE TELECOMUNICAÇÕES (ANATEL) –published Act 2921 with the aim to establish technical requirements for conformity assessment of Personal Mobile Service Radio Frequency Repeater with 4G LTE and 5G NR technology.
22 March 2024 - On 20th March 2024, Brazilian RF Regulator – AGÊNCIA NACIONAL DE TELECOMUNICAÇÕES (ANATEL) – published Official Letter nº 100 in which ANATEL provide clarification regarding the scope of devices subject to local cybersecurity testing for Customer Premises Equipment (CPE).
15 March 2024 - On 26th February 2024, Brazilian RF Regulator – AGÊNCIA NACIONAL DE TELECOMUNICAÇÕES (ANATEL) –published Public Consultation no.10 with the aim of updating the Plan for the Assignment, Destination and Distribution of Frequency Bands in Brazil (PDFF), with the consolidation and inclusion of standards in the Regulation of Conditions of Use of Radio Frequencies.
05 March 2024 - On 29th February, the Brazilian RF Regulator - AGÊNCIA NACIONAL DE TELECOMUNICAÇÕES (ANATEL) - published public consultation no.13 with the aim of reviewing the Conformity Assessment and Approval of Telecommunications Products under Resolution No. 715, of 23 October 2019.
22 February 2024 - Following on KPC Regulatory Update of 28th March 2023, KPC would like to reminder manufacturers that Act 2436 introducing new cybersecurity requirements for certification of Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) will come into force on 10th March 2024.
09 January 2024 - On 14th December 2023, the Brazil Regulator – Agência Nacional De Telecomunicações (ANATEL) – published published document 463-2023 and on 19th December 2023, they published document 464-2023 regarding ACT 7971 (New IPV6 ACT) and ACT 17087 (New Safety ACT) accordingly.

Cayman Islands
02 October 2024 - On 31st August 2024, the Cayman Islands Regulator - The Utility Regulation and Competition Office (OfReg) - announced in a press release that the country has allocated new spectrum bandwidth for 5G services, particularly in the 2300 MHz, 2500 MHz and 3500 MHz frequency bands.
10 June 2024 - On May 27, 2024, the Cayman Islands Regulator, The Utility Regulation and Competition Office (OfReg), Issued a Public Consultation for Short Range Licence Exempt Devices. The main objective of this Public Consultation is to expand the number of short-range radio devices that can operate on a licence exempt basis in the Cayman Islands.

22 November 2024 - On 10th October 2024, the Chilean Ministry for the Economy, Development, and Tourism has published Law N° 21.695 which establishes a universal charger (Type C) for different mobile information and telecommunications devices to be sold in Chile.
18 June 2024 - On 13th June 2024, Chile RF Authority – Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones de Chile (SUBTEL) – opened a public consultation regarding proposed modifications to Resolution No. 1985 of 2017, which establishes the technical standards for short-range devices and equipment.

07 May 2024 - Following the KPC Regulatory Update of 9th January 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China officially published new technical regulations for UWB and RFID equipment on 29th April 2024.

Colombia
07 November 2024 - On 31st October 2024, the Colombian Regulator - Comisión de Regulación de Comunicaciones (CRC) - released the draft proposal for its 2025-2026 Regulatory Agenda.
26 September 2024 -
1) On 18th September 2024, the Colombian Spectrum Agency – Agencia Nacional del Espectro (ANE) – opened a Public Consultation that proposes to enable the use of the 6GHz (5925 – 7125 MHz) frequency band for Very Low Power (VLP) and Standard Power (SP) applications in unlicensed outdoor wireless systems.
2) On 25th September 2024, the Colombian Spectrum Agency – Agencia Nacional del Espectro (ANE) – opened a Public Consultation regarding a technical study of the frequency bands identified in Colombia for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT). This consultation aims to address the future spectrum needs for wireless broadband communications in the country.
12 June 2024 - On 30th May 2024, the Colombian Regulator Comisión de Regulación de Comunicaciones – Colombia (CRC) announced a Public Consultation on Regulatory Simplification in the ICT, Postal, and Audiovisual sectors in Colombia. This consultation aims to gather feedback to identify and eliminate outdated regulations and simplify others, reducing compliance costs and fostering an efficient regulatory environment.
30 April 2024 - Colombia regulator -Comisión de Regulación de Comunicaciones (CRC)- has published Circular 155 de 2024, which updates the Technical Standards Table for Mobile Terminal Equipment (ETM) which supersedes previous Circular 132 of 2020.
08 April 2024 - Further to the KPC Regulatory Update of 7th February 2024 regarding the public consultation for vehicle radars operating within the 57 - 64 GHz frequency band, Colombia Regulator - Agencia Nacional del Espectro (ANE) – has now issued Resolution 153 of 2024, which regulates the technical and operational conditions for short-range radiocommunications, including cabin radars operating in this frequency range.
07 February 2024 - On the 1st of February, Colombia regulator -Agencia Nacional del Espectro (ANE)- announced a public consultation regarding a regulation of vehicle radars operating within the 57 - 64 GHz frequency band.

Curaçao
24 June 2024 - The Curaçao Regulator, formerly BT&P(Bureau Telecommunicatie en Post), has officially changed its name to RAC (Regulatory Authority of Curaçao). There is no expected impact to existing Type Approvals granted in the name of BT&P. Moving forwards, Type Approval certificates will be issued in the name of RAC.

20 March 2024 - Kyrgyz Republic - On 20th March 2024, the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Amendments to Certain Resolutions of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Field of Conformity Assessment of Products and Accreditation of Conformity Assessment Bodies" dated 28th February 2024 comes into force.

27 November 2024 - In November 2024, the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) of Egypt released a new version of their Short-Range Devices (SRD) Guidelines.
23 April 2024 - In March 2024, the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) released an updated Type Approval Procedure. Some of the main changes are relating to labelling and user manual requirements.

28 November 2024 - In November 2024, the Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM) published General Notice 12/2024, proposing to retire 2G and 3G mobile telecommunications networks in Eswatini.
22 November 2024 - On 24th October 2024, Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM) published their news guidelines for the use of Licence-Exempt spectrum bands.

21 November 2024 - On 3rd November 2024, the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation of Ghana (MoCD) announced the official launch of the country’s 5G network.

14 March 2024 - Delays to the Type Approval process at the Autorité de Régulation des Postes et Télécommunications (ARPT) in Guinea remain ongoing. Since November 2023, significant delays have occurred due to multiple factors, such as internal process reforms at ARPT, strikes, protests, and civil unrest.

28 October 2024 - On 10th October 2024, the Honduras Regulator - Comisión Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CONATEL) - released a Public Consultation of their Updates to the National Frequency Allocation Plan.

1) On 26th August 2024, the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) issued a new conformance specification, HKCA 1084, entitled “Conformance Specification for Radiation Safety of Wireless Devices”.
2) According to the announcement from the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) on 2nd August 2024, Hong Kong Telecommunications (HKT) Limited is set to cease its 2G services by 8th November 2024.

19 December 2024 - On 27th November 2024, the Indian Regulator - The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) – published Guidelines for the implementation of IS 302 (Part 1):2024 /IEC 60335-1:2020.
02 December 2024 - The National Center for Communication Security (NCCS) of India has granted an exemption from Security Certification requirements for Cloud implemented IP Routers and Wi-Fi Customer Premises Equipment (CPEs), until 31st May 2025.
07 November 2024 -
1) The National Center for Communication Security (NCCS) of India has issued a Circular to provide clarity to OEMs/Applicants regarding applications for Security testing where there are main and associated models.
2) The National Center for Communication Security (NCCS) of India has issued a Circular to advise an extension has been granted for submission of Declarations of conformity cum Undertaking for the security certification applications for IP Routers and Wi-Fi CPEs.
08 August 2024 - Indian Regulator - Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) – has issued a Circular entrusting The Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) with administration of activities pertaining to market surveillance for products covered under the Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirement of Compulsory Registration) Order, 2021.
02 July 2024 - TEC - Indian Regulator - Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) - has issued a formal notification to announce the extension of the mandatory certification deadline for 5 products covered under MTCTE.
03 April 2024 - TEC - Indian Regulator - Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) - has issued a formal notification to announce the extension of the mandatory certification deadline for some products covered under MTCTE.
Indian Regulator - Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) - has issued a formal notification to announce an additional extension of the mandatory start date of accepting applications for WiFi CPEs and IP Routers on the Integrated MTCTE and NCCS portal for security testing (ITSAR).
23 January 2024 - BIS - On 15th December 2023, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) conducted a consultation meeting on the topic of Parallel Testing, with the participation of industry members, OEMs, laboratories, and manufacturers.
02 January 2024 - TEC - Indian Regulator - Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) - has issued a formal notification to announce the recategorization of some essential requirements. Some categories have moved from GCS (Generalized Certificate Scheme) to SCS (Simplified Certification Scheme) and some have moved from SCS to GCS as in the below table. These categories have come into effect from the 1st January 2024.

19 December 2024 - On 18th December 2024, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital) opened two Public Consultations on their Draft Technical Standards for Telecommunication Devices used in Radio Local Area Networks (RLAN) and their Draft Technical Standards for Wireless Power Transmission (WPT) devices.
21 August 2024 - Further to the KPC Regulatory Update of 31st May 2024, the new regulation 'NOMOR 260 TAHUN 2024' concerning the technical standards for Short Range Devices (SRD) came into effect from 11th August 2024.
15 August 2024 - Further to the Kiwa Product Compliance Regulatory Update of 26th September 2023, the Indonesian Authority, Direktorat Jenderal Sumber Daya dan Perangkat Pos dan Informatika (SDPPI) issued new regulation “NOMOR 352 TAHUN 2024” on 25th July 2024.
18 June 2024 - On 5th June 2024, the Indonesian RF Regulator – the Directorate General of Resources and Post and Informatics Devices (SDPPI) – issued announcement B-232/DJSDPPI.5/SP.04.03/06/2024, inviting the public to provide feedback on the revision of five technical standards.
31 May 2024 - On 13th May 2024, the Minister of Communications and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia issued the regulation “NOMOR 260 TAHUN 2024” regarding technical standards for Short Range Devices (SRD), replacing the existing regulation “NOMOR 161 TAHUN 2019”.
03 April 2024 - Further to the KPC Regulatory Update of 09th November 2023, on 27th March 2024, Indonesia RF Regulator –Direktur Jenderal Sumber Daya dan Perangkat Pos dan Informatika (SDPPI) – announced the regulation NOMOR 109 TAHUN 2024 regarding the appointment of foreign test laboratories for the certification of telecommunications equipment and/or telecommunications devices.
21 March 2024 - Further to the KPC Regulatory Update issued on 15th November 2023, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia has issued the final regulation NOMOR 3 TAHUN 2024 regarding the Operational Provisions of Certification of Telecommunications Equipment and/or Devices.
Following the KPC Regulatory Update issued on 29th August 2023, the Minister of Communications and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia recently issued a new regulation NOMOR 177 TAHUN 2024 regarding Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) limitations for cellular phones and tablet computers on 7th March 2024.
30 January 2024 - From discussions with local partners, the Direktorat Jenderal Sumber Daya dan Perangkat Pos dan Informatika (SDPPI) of Indonesia has commenced the implementation of additional EMC testing parameter - Conducted Emission at Telecommunication Port for products equipped with telecommunication ports - during local testing.
19 Janury 2024 - Following KPC’s Regulatory Update of 15th November 2023 regarding the public consultation on the draft technical requirements for non-cellular low power wide area network (LPWAN) telecommunication devices, on 3rd January 2024, Minister of communications and informatics of the Republic of Indonesia has released the final regulation - KEPMEN KOMINFO NO 5 TAHUN 2024.

22 October 2024 - On 18th October 2024, the Autorité de Régulation des Télécommunications/TIC de Côte d’Ivoire (ARTCI) launched a Public Consultation on the Draft National Frequency Management Strategy for the Telecommunications Sector.

23 December 2024 - On 18th December 2024, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has proposed an amendment to the Regulation for Radio Equipment, including related ministerial ordinances and public notifications, to facilitate the growing use of the 5.2GHz band WLAN system, particularly in aerial applications.
21 November 2024 - On 12th November 2024, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications announced their plan to develop relevant regulations for Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) operating in the 433 MHz band.
07 November 2024 - The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has proposed a partial amendment of the Regulations for Enforcement of the Radio Act (Radio Regulatory Commission Rules No. 14 of 1950) to introduce technical requirements for Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) system using 6.7 MHz band, which is in response to the expected needs for supplying power to transport robots utilized in distribution centres and factories.

31 July 2024 - Due to the political unrest in Nairobi, KPC has been informed that severe delays can be expected for all Type Approval applications under review at Kenya RF Authority – The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA).

Kuwait
17 October 2024 - On 1st September 2024, the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) of Kuwait published Decision No. 2024/278. This Decision announces that third generation mobile communications (3G) services will stop operating in the country by no later than 1st June 2025.

Lesotho
10 December 2024 - On 14th November 2024, the Lesotho Communications Authority (LCA) released a Public Consultation on their Administrative Rules 2024. This draft regulation covers multiple areas from Licence applications, Spectrum Management, Type Approval and Cybersecurity among others.

Macau
20 December 2024 - On 6th December 2024, Correios e Telecomunicacoes de Macau (CTT) released an announcement stating that the 3G licenses of the four mobile telecom service operators would expire on 4th June 2025, signifying the end of 3G mobile telecom networks and services in Macau.
18 April 2024 - On 5th April 2024, the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) issued Instruction No. 64/2024, amending the categories of low-power and short-range radio communication equipment as outlined in Instruction No. 198/2014.

27 November 2024 - The Malawi Regulatory Authority (MACRA) have released updated guidelines for Type Approval labelling, ‘‘Terms and Conditions of a Type Approval Grant”, in accordance with the Communications (Electronic Equipment) (Type Approval) Regulations issued on 26th January 2023.
01 November 2024 - Following the KPC Regulatory Update issued on 4th July 2024, regarding the implementation start of their 2023 Type Approval Regulations, the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) have issued their ‘Terms and Conditions of a Type Approval Grant’, which opens a consultation on future Type Approval labelling requirements.
04 July 2024 - The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) have notified the public that they plan to start implementing their new Communications (Electronic Equipment) (Type Approval) Regulations issued on 26th of January 2023.

11 October 2024 - On 2nd October 2024, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) opened a public consultation on the proposed way forward for 100% adoption of and complete migration to IPv6 in Malaysia.
02 August 2024 - The Energy Commission of Malaysia - Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) has issued a new edition of the Guidelines for the Approval of Electrical Equipment (2024 Edition) in June.
25 July 2024 - On 11th July 2024, the Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) has granted another extension of the interim Type Approval for IPv6 cellular equipment without WiFi interface or IPv6 equipment over other medium (e.g: fiber optic etc. except Ethernet LAN), effective from 10th July 2024 until further notice.
18 June 2024 - On 1st June 2024, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) published an announcement stating that they will cancel the use of fixed-satellite service earth stations and ultra-wideband communication devices in the 3400 MHz to 3700 MHz frequency range.
