16 August 2022 - On 11 August 2022, Argentina RF Regulator – Ente Nacional de Comunicaciones (ENACOM) – published document No. NO/2022-83513667-APN-DNAYRT-ENACOM. This document announces the end of the transition period provided to manufacturers to adhere to the new RAMATEL logo labelling requirement, as established in Resolution N° 854/2020.

29 June 2022 - The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) have released a public consultation regarding their labelling requirements set out in their Telecommunications Labelling Notice, and cancellation of 3 technical standards which cover outdated technologies.
18 March 2022 - The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) have released their draft five-year spectrum outlook 2022-2027 for public consultation.

19 April 2022 - On 8th April 2022, the Azerbaijan Ministry of Digital Development and Transport addressed the Azerbaijan Accreditation Centre with a request to suspend the issuance of certificates of conformity for mobile devices supporting the A5/1 encryption algorithm, which operate only on the 2G network.

31 August 2022 - On 17th August 2022, Bahrain Regulator –Telecommunications Regulations Authority (TRA) –announced the adoption of radio spectrum ranges 5470 – 5725 MHz and 5925 – 6425 MHz for Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E applications.

24 November 2022 - The Bolivian Authority – Ministerio de Obras Publicas, Servicios y Vivienda (MOPSV) – has recently published the “Resolución Ministerial No. 174”, which updates the National Frequency Plan by allocating the 3.3-3.6 GHz frequency bands for 5G mobile operation with immediate effect.

10 June 2022 - In February 2022, the Botswana Communication Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) published their guidelines on the use of short-range devices (SRDs) in Botswana.
04 April 2022 - The Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) have now issued their final Type Approval Repair Services Providers Guidelines. These guidelines came into effect on 1st April 2022.

06 December 2022 - On 25th November 2022, Brazilian Regulator - Agência Nacional De Telecomunicações (ANATEL) released public consultation 79 regarding the outdoor use of the 5925 – 7125 MHz frequency band for access points. Any interested parties are invited to comment and answer questions proposed by ANATEL.
26 October 2022 - On 7th October 2022, Brazilian Regulator – Agência Nacional De Telecomunicações (ANATEL) – issued Official letter nº 218/2022, which aims to standardize the guidelines on the certification procedures for RF modules in telecom and non-telecom products.
25 October 2022 - On 14th October 2022, Brazilian Regulator – Agência Nacional De Telecomunicações (ANATEL) – published new Act 13423 regarding cell phone chargers.

27 July 2022 - Further to the PCS Regulatory Update of 30th November 2021, the Brazilian Regulator - Agência Nacional De Telecomunicações (ANATEL) – issued Official Notice 265/2022 on 26th July 2022 in support of public health COVID-19 emergency measures to help reduce the impact on certification and maintenance activities.
29 June 2022 - On 7th June 2022, the Brazilian Regulator - Agência Nacional De Telecomunicações (ANATEL) – released Act 7869 which details the technical requirements for conformity assessment of Optical Network Terminal (ONT), Optical Line Terminal (OLT), and Optical Network Unit (UN) compliance systems for fiber optic networks with GPON, XGPON and XGSPON passive optical network standards.
04 May 2022 - On 29th April 2022, Brazilian Regulator – Agência Nacional De Telecomunicações (ANATEL) – released Act 5159, concerning test procedures and technical requirements for cell phone chargers.

11 January 2022 - Chile RF Regulator - Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (SUBTEL) - have released a public consultation regarding the 3400 - 3600MHz frequency band with the aim to maximize the efficiency in the use of the radioelectric spectrum.

21 November 2022 - The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (CMIIT) have released a draft regulation on coding rules of the CMIIT ID which is assigned to approved radio equipment.
12 October 2022 - The General Office of the State Council have approved changes for electronic and electrical products, which will have an impact on the Type Approval procedure for such devices.

Colombia
16 November 2022 - Following the PCS Regulatory updates issued during 2021 and 2022 concerning public consultations made on the 6GHz band (5925 - 7125 MHz), the Presidential Advisor for Digital Transformation at the Colombian Government, has made an announcement on 11th November 2022, that the 5925-7125 MHz frequency range will be permitted for unlicensed use in Colombia.
21 July 2022 - Further to the PCS Regulatory Updates dated 11th January 2021, and 21st January 2021 concerning the use of 5G and / or WiFi 6 technology, the Colombian Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MINTIC) and the National Agency for the Spectrum (ANE) – have issued an additional public consultation which ends on 25th July 2022.
29 June 2022 - The Colombian National Spectrum Agency – Agencia Nacional del Espectro (ANE) – recently released Resolution 148/2022 which modifies Resolution 105/2020 and updates the National Frequency Plan in the country.

13 July 2022 - On 23rd June 2022, Costa Rica RF Regulator – Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones (SUTEL) – published RCS-141-2022: “Modificación parcial del procedimiento de homologación de terminales de telecomunicaciones móviles” in ‘La Gaceta,’ which enforce amendments to the Brand Registration process.

10 October 2022 - In September 2022, the Dominican Republic Regulator – INDOTEL– published Resolution 082-2022 which outlines the conditions to operate in the 5925-7125 MHz band for low and very low power

EAC Customs Union
21 October 2022 - On 17th October 2022, the Eurasian Economic Commission implemented a simplified EAC labelling procedure for products subject to EAC approval.
16 June 2022 On 10th June 2022, the Eurasian Commission published Decision № 90 and № 91 specifying amendments to the EAEC TR 004/2011 Technical Regulation on Safety of Low Voltage Equipment and to the EAEC TR 020/2011 Technical Regulation on Electromagnetic Compatibility.
22 April 2022 On 15th April 2022, the Eurasian Commission published Decision № 50 specifying amendments to EAEC TR 048/2019 Technical Regulation on Energy Efficiency. The decision will be implemented from 25th April 2022
18 Feburary 2022 On 8 February 2022 Eurasian Commission published Decision № 23 specifying a list of products with HS codes, which will be subject to EAEC TR 048/2019 Technical Regulation on Energy Efficiency.
21 January 2022 - PCS can confirm that there are some changes to existing EAC regulations, coming into effect during 2022.

31 October 2022 - Further to PCS’ Regulatory Update of 12th August 2021, the Regional RF Regulator – Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority (ECTEL) – has published the update to its Regional Spectrum Management Plan which covers the countries Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

06 May 2022 - On 29th April 2022, Hong Kong Regulator – Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) – announced that the 6GHz frequency band for Wireless Local Area Networks is now permitted in Hong Kong, issuing standard HKCA 1081.
12 January 2022 - Hong Kong Regulator – Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) – have released updates on Type Acceptance Criteria user equipment for use in public mobile communications services employing CDMA direct spread (UTRA FDD) and/or evolved universal terrestrial radio access (E-UTRA) frequency division duplex (FDD) and operating in the 850 MHz band.

21 November 2022 - The Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) from the Department of Telecommunications has announced the shifting of the following Essential Requirements (ERs) from the General Certification Scheme (GCS) to the Simplified Certification Scheme (SCS) after 1st January 2023.
30 September 2022 - The Indian Department of Technology have released a notification advising of some new rules to prevent the tampering of mobile equipment devices, which will come into force 1 January 2023.

19 May 2022 - WPC -On 9th May 2022, the Wireless Planning and Coordination Wing (WPC) of the Ministry of Communications of India, published a new revised regulation for Low Power Radio Frequency equipment operating in the 433-434 MHz frequency band, called the ‘The Use of Low Power Radio Frequency Devices in the frequency band 433.05 to 434.79 MHz (Exemption from License) Rules, 2022’.
25 April 2022 - TEC - Further to PCS’ Regulatory Updates of 10th November 2021 and 3rd February 2022, the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) has released a further addendum to their original Phase III and Phase IV notification.
21 March 2022 - TEC - The Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) have released a memorandum advising that there will be a new energy efficiency requirement which will be made mandatory on 1st January 2023.
11 February 2022 - TEC - On 8th February 2022, the Ministry of Communications department of Telecommunications Engineering Centre advised that there are now 15 minute slots available for any stakeholders who wish to discuss the Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunications Equipment (MTCTE).
03 February 2022 - TEC - The Ministry of Communications department of Telecommunications Engineering Centre released an amendment on 31st January 2022 to the notification about Phase III and IV testing released on the 22nd September 2021.
11 January 2022 - WPC - On 21st December 2021, the Wireless Planning and Coordination Wing (WPC) of the Ministry of Communications of India, published a new regulation for inductive applications, called ‘the Use of Very Low Power Radio Frequency Devices or Equipments for Inductive Applications (Exemption from Licence) Rules, 2021’.

09 September 2022 - On 8th September 2022, the Indonesian Regulator – Direktorat Jenderal Sumber Daya dan Perangkat Pos dan Informatika (SDPPI) – opened a public consultation to update current regulation 16 Tahun 2018.
11 February 2022 - Further to PCS’s Regulatory Update of 10 May 2021, the main government laboratory accredited for local testing in Indonesia – Balai Besar Pengujian Perangkat Telekomunikasi (BBPPT) – released an update on 24 January 2022 stating that they are now able to test 5G NR technology on devices that support it.

10 August 2022 - In July 2022, the Israeli RF Regulator – Ministry of Communication (MoC) – approved updates to their Wireless Telegraph Regulations, 2021.
29 July 2022 - On 18th July 2022, new import requirements came into effect in Israel, whereby random surveillance will be carried out post-Approval, at the point of import.

16 September 2022 - On 5th September 2022, Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications released Ministerial Ordinance for Partial Revision of Radio Law Enforcement Regulations relating to low-power radio systems in 920MHz. (Ordinance number - 60).
15 September 2022 - On 2nd September 2022, Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications released Ministerial Ordinance for Partial Revision of Radio Law Enforcement Regulations relating to WLAN system (Ordinance number - 59).

29 April 2022 - On 13th April 2022, the Telecommunications Regulation Commission (TRC) of The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan released Instructions and conditions for licensing and operating local radio communications networks (RLAN), in line with the SRD regulation that was published in 2021.

30 December 2022 - Further to the Regulatory Update issued of 18th October 2021 regarding 5G Technical Codes MCMC MTSFB TC T016:2021, the regulatory body, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has enforced the requirement for the certification of 5G user equipment from 21st December 2022.
25 July 2022 - On 25th July 2022, The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) released an updated Class Assignment for 2022.
14 July 2022 - On 10th July 2022, the Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) extended the interim IPv6 approval period by another year, up until 10th July 2023.
22 March 2022 - On 14th March 2022, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) published an announcement about two new technical codes for cellular booster equipment.
10 February 2022 - On 05th February 2022, the Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) issued an announcement on the certification of SRD utilizing the frequency band 5925–6425MHz.

04 October 2022 - On 26th September 2022, the Mexican Secretariat of Economy (SE) announced a public consultation concerning an update to the national requirements for Commercial information for packaging, instructions and guarantees for electronic, electrical, and household appliance products PROY-NOM-024-SE-2022.
22 September 2022 - Further to the PCS Regulatory Update of 5th October 2021 regarding the public consultation concerning Draft Technical Disposition IFT-011-2021 – Technical Specifications of Mobile Terminal Equipment that can make use of the radio spectrum or be connected to telecommunications networks. Part 3. Cellular Broadcasting Service for the notification of Risk or Emergency situations – PCS can confirm the final amendments will into force on 12th March 2023.
20 May 2022 - Mexican RF Regulator – Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) – will be closed for business from 18th July until 29thJuly 2022 inclusive for their annual holiday period.
18 March 2022 - On 24th February 2022, the Mexican RF Regulator – Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) –announced a public consultation is underway concerning frequency band 57-64 GHz.
10 January 2022 - Further to the PCS Regulatory Update of 22nd April 2021 regarding the public consultation concerning changes to the current Conformity Assessment Procedure (PEC), Mexico RF Regulator - Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) – have now published changes which will be introduced to the Type Approval process for radio devices subject to current Mexican national standards and where there is a local testing procedure (such as NOM-208-SCFI-2016 and NOM-221-SCFI-2017 part 2).

01 July 2022 - On 16th June 2022, the Qatar Regulator – Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) – released a public consultation about fifth generation (5G) private mobile networks. The deadline for comments or suggestions to be submitted is 21st July 2022.
09 May 2022 - On 26th April 2022, Qatar RF Regulator – Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) – published a new Class License for the use of RLAN devices over 5925-6425 MHz band.

Saudi Arabia
12 December 2022 - The Saudi Arabian Authorities once known as Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) have officially changed their name to Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST). There is no impact to Approvals already issued in the country.
23 November 2022 - Following the PCS Regulatory update of 20th December 2021 concerning the postponement of the Technical Regulation for Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), PCS would like to remind manufacturers that the RoHS requirements for ‘Information and communication technology equipment’ are due to be implemented from 31st December 2022.
13 October 2022 - On 9th October, the Saudi Arabian Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), announced a public consultation on the Roadmap for 5.9 GHz for Vehicle to Everything Communications (V2X) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
29 June 2022 - As of 23rd June 2022, the Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC) approved the document "Allocation and Use Regulation for Spectrum Bands Identified for IMT." This regulatory document identifies the Information Mobile Technology (IMT) spectrum bands and regulates the use of these bands in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
19 May 2022 - Saudi Arabia Regulator - The Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC) - have announced the launch of the Emerging Technologies Sandbox, in line with their 2030 Vision.
20 April 2022 - On 7th April 2021, the Saudi Arabia RF Regulator – Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) – issued a public Consultation Document on Updating the IoT Regulations, originally published in September 2019.
18 February 2022 - Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) – has issued an email notification to stakeholders about the update to 5G NR frequency requirements in the Technical Specification GEN002.

17 January 2022 - Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) – have issued a new "WLAN Regulations" document that entered into force on the 1st of January 2022. The new Regulation was published on the CITC's site here and replaced the previous version of Wireless local area networks(WLAN/Wi-Fi) Usage Regulations.

16 December 2022 - Senegal Regulator – Autorité de Régulation des Télécommunications et des Postes (ARTP) – has announced a public consultation on allocation of 5G frequencies in Senegal, seeking contributions from any stakeholder with an interest in the implementation of 5G in the country.
01 June 2022 - The Telecoms Regulator in Senegal (ARTP) has published a Decision on the general conditions for use of SRDs in Senegal. This replaces the previous regulations dated 28 April 2004.
12 May 2022 - Further to the PCS Regulatory Update of 10th November 2021, where ARTP (l’Autorité de Régulation des Télécommunications et des Postes) published Décision 2021-011 outlining changes in the Type Approval process in Senegal, including the introduction of sample testing requirements and a definition of labelling requirements, PCS have received some additional clarifications concerning this Regulation.

12 October 2022 - Further to the PCS Regulatory Update issued of 9th August regarding the new security requirements for cellular devices, the Singapore Authority Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA)- has confirmed the final timescale for the new regulation, IMDA TS CD-SEC published on 1st July 2022.
09 August 2022 - In July 2022, the Singapore Regulator – Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) – in conjunction with the Telecommunications Standards Advisory Committee (TSAC), published new security requirements for cellular devices entitled ‘Technical Specification: Security Requirements to Guard against Network Storms for Cellular Devices’.

17 August 2022 - The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand have announced a public hearing for Regulations on Conformity Assessment Procedures for Telecommunication Equipment.
On 11th August 2022, Thailand Regulator – National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) also officially announced a Public Hearing on frequency range 5925 - 6425 GHz, ahead of its possible future use in Thailand.
04 January 2022 - On 20th December 2021, the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand have officially issued VHF/UHF Technical standards NBTC TS 1001-2564 and NBTC TS 1024-2564, which replace existing standards NBTC TS 1001-2561 and NBTC TS 1024-2561 respectively. The new standards took effect on 21st December 2021.

Ukraine
11 August 2022 - On 27th April 2022, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine approved Order #164, pertaining to the “Technical Regulation for Energy Labelling of Energy Consuming Products”, which will come into force from 1st August 2023.
25 February 2022 - Following the unprecedented situation currently ongoing in Ukraine from 24 February 2022, Ukraine’s President has declared a state of martial law and general mobilization across the country.This will cause disruption with the conformity assessment processes in Ukraine. PCS have confirmed that Authorities and Conformity Assessment Bodies will be shut down. Type Approval related activities will therefore be delayed until further notice.

30 December 2022 - On 30th November 2022, the Vietnamese Regulator – Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) promulgated the National Technical Regulation, Circular 24/2022/TT-BTTTT, on electrical safety requirements for telecommunication and information terminal equipment. This new Circular is expected to take effect from 1st January 2024.
03 November 2022 - The Minister of Industry and Trade (MOIT) of Vietnam have released a new draft Circular – the National Technical Regulation on the allowable content limits of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, QCVN 2022/BCT – regarding RoHS compliance requirements.
21 June 2022 - Further to PCS Regulatory Update of 6th June 2022, the Vietnamese Regulator – Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) – officially issued Letter 2361/BTTTT-KHCN, providing guidance on the implementation of Circular 02/2022/TT-BTTTT. Letter 2361/BTTTT-KHCN will be formally implemented on 1st July 2022.
06 June 2022 - Further to the PCS Regulatory Update of 7th March 2022, Vietnamese Regulator – Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) – officially issued Circular 02/2022/TT-BTTTT on 16th May 2022.
17 May 2022 - On 13th April 2022, the Vietnam Regulator – Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) – released a draft Circular promulgating the “National technical regulation on electrical safety for telecommunications and information technology terminal equipment”. The new Circular is expected to take effect from 1st January 2024.
09 May 2022 - On 7th April 2022, the Vietnam Regulator - Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) - released a draft Circular promulgating the “National Technical Regulation on NB-IoT Terminals”. The new Circular is expected to take effect from 1st July 2023.

09 March 2022 - On 9th February 2022, the Vietnam Regulator - Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) – published a draft Circular promulgating the "National technical regulation on electromagnetic compatibility for wireless audio equipment in the frequency range 25 to 2000 MHz". This new Circular is expected to take effect from 1st July 2023

07 March 2022 - On 9th December 2021, Vietnam Government issued Decree No. 111/2021/ND-CP, amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Government’s Decree No. 43/2017/ND-CP of April 14, 2017, on product and goods labeling. The new regulation took effect from 15th February 2022
21 January 2022 - Further to the PCS Regulatory Update dated 27th July 2021, the Vietnamese Regulator – Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) – have issued new Circular 28/2021/TT-BTTTT which introduces a new national technical regulation on non-Standalone 5G User Equipment - Radio Access - QCVN 129:2021/BTTTT.
