What you need to know
A new standard concerning the acoustic performance of residential buildings has been published for 2022. The impact of reinforced acoustic criteria on current construction principles is not negligible for architects. Vinçotte (a member of the Kiwa group) invites you to a training course designed to guide architects, on the basis of the changes made to standard NBN S 01 400-1, in the definition and design, at the pre-project stage, of acoustically comfortable and efficient residential buildings (single and multi-family).
Vinçotte has acquired extensive experience in carrying out measurements and studies relating to ambient noise.
Our know-how in this field includes a wide range of services:
- ambient noise immission measurements using stand-alone measurement chains
- complete acoustic studies in compliance with Vlarem II regulations
- intensimetric measurements to identify noise sources
- emission measurements to determine sound power levels (pressure, intensity, vibration)
- production of company noise maps
- determination of immission sound power levels at plants
- creation of an acoustic propagation model using IMMI software
- prognosis and advice on the acoustic impact of new installations
- research into the best available techniques (BAT studies)
- preparation of an environmental impact report (EIR) for companies and infrastructures
- preparation of a sanitation plan in compliance with the Vlarem II regulation
- cost estimates for noise abatement measures
- measures and advice concerning maximum sound levels for music in establishments
- preparation of noise maps calculated for traffic and industry, and determination of the number of people subject to noise in accordance with European directives.
Vinçotte has extensive experience in the field of environmental noise. A team of 10 experienced people work in the noise department. We have a wide range of environmental noise approvals:
- 3 people are approved by the Flemish Government as environmental experts in the field of noise and vibration (Vlarem II experts)
- 3 persons are approved by the Flemish Government as RIE experts in noise and vibration for the preparation of environmental impact reports.
- approved as an acoustic laboratory by Ministerial Decree of the Brussels-Capital Region Government
- Approval by the Walloon Government for the inspection of noise abatement equipment and devices.
Thanks to our experience and the wide range of approvals we hold in the 3 regions, the results and opinions we deliver are recognized by the various governments and authorities, and Vinçotte can be considered a neutral and objective partner.
Advantages
You get a clear and comprehensive report on your environmental noise, recognized by various governments and authorities. This report can help you, for example, in the design phase of new installations, by assessing potential acoustic problems and enabling you to avoid future costs. Based on an inventory of the noise sources involved and the creation of an acoustic propagation model, an effective balance can be struck between the cost and the expected environmental gain of certain measures.
