What you need to know
Fire extinguishing protection systems are devices with significant benefits, such as the ability to detect fires, alert the protection authorities (fire department) or control the fire source. Thanks to their technology, they limit fire damage, use less water (or other extinguishing media) and save lives. These systems also have commercial advantages, thanks to the guarantee of continuity they provide.
These extinguishing systems include sprinkler systems using water or foam, water mist extinguishing systems with droplets ranging from 10 to 400 micrometers, automatic gas extinguishing systems and engineered systems.
These technologies can be applied to particularly critical premises such as ICT rooms, HV cabins and maritime premises, but also to protect objects such as production facilities.
There are 2 groups of gases:
- Inert gases: CO2, N2, Ar => pure or combined
- Chemical extinguishing gases: FM200, Novec 1230
A gas extinguishing system only works properly if the room is airtight. To determine this, you need to carry out a "fan test" (gas-tightness test).
Vinçotte's fire experts will assist you in the design phase of your installation (including in the event of derogations) and will check the technical file: plans, calculations, diagrams, components used, etc. They will then take delivery of your system.
They then take delivery of your system (visual assessment, functional tests and any measurements) and carry out periodic inspections.
Advantages
Thanks to this service, you meet your legal obligations while guaranteeing the efficiency of your extinguishing system and the safety of your employees and third parties. By involving Vinçotte right from the project phase, you can also ensure that subsequent interventions, once the system has been installed and the building is in operation, are carried out efficiently and without costly modifications.
