Japan MIC testing
The exact certification process for a market approval in Japan depends on the device itself or the technologies and interfaces used in the device. If a product incorporates radio technology, the certification process is required under the Radio Law. This includes the following technologies which can be tested by Kiwa:
- Bluetooth;
- WiFi 2,4 GHz/5GHz;
- Cellular technologies (2G, 3G, 4G);
- RFID (2.4 GHz, 920 MHz).
Japan MIC testing is done with so called conducted samples. The equipment under test is in most cases equipped with an sma, u.fl or mmcx connector or pigtail. Kiwa is equipped with state-of-the-art test facilities and is an MIC Japan accredited test lab. Tests will be performed in our test facilities in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands.
Japan MIC certification
Each radio product which is to be marketed in Japan must comply with the Japanese Radio Law. If manufacturers use a suitable MIC pre-certified radio module, you can suffice with stating the registration number of the module on your product. If the used radio is not pre-certified and not suitable for modular approval usage, the product must undergo testing and certification. Certification for the Japanese law is divided in certain categories, such as Category WW for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 2,4 GHz radio’s. Kiwa is a Japanese MIC CAB (Conformity Assessment Body) and can certify your radio and Telecom products.
MIC certification by Kiwa
As a registered certification body, Kiwa engages in the radio equipment conformity certification service for all kinds of the specified radio equipment. The number ‘201’ as a registered body ID is put to each of radio equipment certified by Kiwa.
