Is FprEN 10138 interesting for your organization?

This certificate will provide trust for your buyers and authorities worldwide that your prestressing steel wire and or strand are according to the European draft standard for PC steel.

The standard FprEN 10138 will become a harmonized standard. Once the standard is harmonized and published by the European Commission the certification will be mandatory and you are obliged to label your products with CE.

If you choose to become certified according to this draft standard it will only be a quick step for you to transfer this certificate to a CE certificate.

Why FprEN 10138 certification by Kiwa?

Any production location anywhere in the world that produces according to this pre-standard can be certified. The certification is based on a private certification scheme. That means that certification is voluntary. In the future this standard will be used for the mandatory CE certification.

The FprEN 10138 certification can be easily combined with other national private schemes such as KOMO BRL 2401 for the Netherlands. Most national private schemes are based on the FprEN 10138 series.

What does the certification process look like?

How to get certified in 5 steps:

  • Initial type testing according to FprEN 10138-1
  • Initial on-site audit including the quality system, organization and implementation of your factory Production Control system
  • Resolving any non-conformities
  • If the relevant requirements are met, Kiwa will issue the FprEN 10138-1 certificate;

The certificate has an indefinite period of validity. It indicates the scope on the basis of which you are certified. For maintaining certification, we will visit your company 4x per year. During the audit we will also take samples to perform the audit testing as described in the FprEN 10138-1.
