What you need to know

As a manufacturer of tractors, you must not only meet these requirements but also ensure that your production complies with the approved types (see Audit & Certification). To demonstrate compliance with the imposed requirements, both trailers and the production process are subjected to a series of tests/audits. The tests are conducted at the manufacturer's workshop or a third-party laboratory.
Once your product meets the conditions, it can be registered and used in any EU member state. This measure is known as the EC Whole Vehicle Type-Approval system (ECWVTA), where type approval means that an EU member state confirms that a type of vehicle, system, component, or technical unit meets all relevant administrative provisions and technical requirements.
