The EN 12102 standard lays down requirements for the standardized determination of the sound power produced in the ambient air by air conditioners, cooling units for liquid cooling, heat pumps and dehumidifiers with electrically driven compressors. The EN 12102 standard consists of two parts:
· Part 1: Air conditioners, cooling units for liquid cooling, heat pumps for space heating and cooling, dehumidifiers and process cooling units;
· Part 2: Heat pumps for hot water generation.
The EN 12102 offers standardized methods for determining the sound power level of the equipment mentioned above. This concerns tests under controlled conditions of use (class A measurement) that can be used for, among other things, certification and labeling.
